WORKSHOP: LIVE BAND NOW!

Class Begins: Tuesday, March 19, 2019  |  7 to 9pm

This eight week course is designed for players ready to take the next step - playing for an audience LIVE!

 

Apply those lessons and/or time youʼve put in on your instrument to good, fun use! Looking for Vocalists, Guitar, Bass, Drums, Keys, Horns, Percussionistʼs who have learned some of the basics, have been jamming with friends, taken  a few lessons and want to experience playing in a band for a live audience.

You will learn arrangements, dynamics, basics in p.a. operation, musicianship, band etiquette and much more. Our instructors are long time gigging musicians with experience in many bands and venues.

We begin with a discussion choosing several popular songs to breakdown, learn and perform. We try to pick tunes that are well known rock, country, blues, jazz genres that have a good beat, involve some vocal lead and background, and are not too difficult. Tempo, tuning, technique, progressions, forms, soloing, harmony, phrasing, tips and tricks are all part of it.

There is a lot going on bringing players together live to form a cohesive unit plying tight and in tune. Perfect to augment your ongoing self or organized instruction, you can learn real world experience and put it to immediate practical application - performing for an audience! And for less than half the price of regular lessons! But there is no better feeling of accomplishment, the reward is huge.

At the end of the course, our group will perform all the songs weʼve learned and feel comfortable playing, for a well attended Music Lab event at a local venue. Show off your skills to your family and friends and what you learn will serve you well in all your musical endeavors!

Classes are 2 hours every Tuesday evening, beginning March 19th, starting at 7pm for 8 weeks with a performance to follow (within 10 days). We provide 2 drum kits, bass amp, p.a. keys, and have guitar amps avail4ble if needed.

$15.00 each 2 hour session or $100.00 prepaid for ll 8 sessions.
